I'll be honest, I don't know the Peak District as well as many of the other National Parks so I thought it was time I rectified that! Coupled with a suggestion to visit the Chatsworth Christmas Market, it seemed like a good opportunity to plan an out of season break there.

I've booked some amazing accommodation at Lower Damgate Farm, which is right in the middle of the beautiful White Peak area, just a stone's throw from idyllic Dovedale.

We are very lucky to have Jen Sutton catering for us (check out www.travellingchef.co.uk to make your stomach rumble) so you don't have to lift a finger.

As the days will be short, this is definitely a low moderate type holiday - nothing too long or too high. There are fabulous walks from the door and of course, we will spend one day exploring Chatsworth and the fabulous gardens.
