Towering sea cliffs, high moors, tumbling streams and deep valleys that shelter an unique Atlantic Rain forest. On Exmoor, it is still possible to find tranquillity and peace as well as rediscover a sense of adventure; to catch a glimpse of wild red deer, be amazed by dark skies full of stars, and explore villages full of character and charm.
We had a fabulous trip to Exmoor last September, but once again I felt we barely scratched the surface of what this beautiful National Park has to offer.
Our new guide, Mel, is joining us to lead the moderate walks, while I’ll be taking the low‑moderate routes. And if there’s enough interest in the sightseeing option, Barbara is ready and waiting in the wings to step in.
We loved our stay at the Yarn Market Hotel in the heart of the gorgeous village of Dunster, and the group were very enthusiastic about returning. The hotel is cosy, relaxed, and absolutely tailor‑made for walkers - we were made to feel so welcome. We’ll be staying on a full‑board basis again, with all meals taken in the hotel. Their locally sourced menu caters for all tastes, and the food is delicious.
